OK, so let the speculation begin. Here are my guesses (with my prediction at the end of the post):
1) Replication of CFCs in a cluster (fat chance, though a huge wish of mine)
2) Functionality akin to SeeFusion, which allows you to look into your ColdFusion server and see what's going on.
3) Functionality related to Flex 2. From the ColdFusion Adapter to Flex Enterprise Services 2, there's a lot coming down the pike.
CFC replication is just too simple to have a product code name for, so that's out. SeeFusion-type functionality is what the fanfare around Scorpio is supposed to be, so I doubt they'd release it as some sort of interim release.
So that leaves...
My vote is for number 3. It's pretty apparent that Flex 2 will likely be released in the first half of this year. (No time soon, as it's not even in beta, but I can't see it being longer than June). Scorpio isn't even in alpha form yet, which likely means that we're looking at the fall at the absolute earliest for any sort of final release. And it would make no sense at all to sit on the amazing new features of Flex 2 and what it will offer until the fall or the end of the year. But here's the tipper for me. Tom Jordahl (long-time engineer extraordinaire on the ColdFusion team) just posted on the flexcoders mailing list all the things he's working on regarding ColdFusion MX 7 and Flex 2 integration. Have a read through his post to get a feel for what's on his plate right now. He's working on some crazy cool stuff right now that I just can't see Adobe sitting on. If anything, it will whet the appetite of current and potential ColdFusion customers. I, for one, can't wait. I don't even understand what some of the stuff is just yet! I just hope I'm lucky enough to be on any betas, as we're embarking on a heavy-duty Flex 2 project that his work would be a perfect fit for. (Hint, hint!)
